Anton Rijnen  is the CEO of Monstrante (Pty) Ltd. He was the Group CEO of Strata Healthcare Management (Pty) Ltd from 2014 to 2016 and the former CEO & Principal Officer of Medihelp medical scheme from 1999 to 2013.

 

In articles published between 2004 and 2011 in the "South Africa's Leading Managers" the Corporate Research Foudation Institute (CRF) described him as follows: A harbinger of change in our country; leading by example; a capable communicator; passionate about people; faith made real; and the turnaround king. In the 2009/10 and 2010/11 publications he was rated as one of the Top 10 Leading Managers in South Africa.

 

Under his leadership Medihelp was transformed from a restricted scheme for white, civil servants to one of the top 5 ranked, open medical schemes in South Africa. Medihelp was also rated the best medical scheme for client service in South Africa from 2005 to 2008 and was among the top 3 from 2009 to 2013. As an employer, Medihelp was named the 7th best medium-sized South African company to work for in the Deloitte's Best Company to Work For survey in 2010.

 

Anton served as a council member of the International Federation of Health Plans from 2012 to 2016 and as director on the Board of Health Funders of Southern Africa, the Curamed Hospital Group, Health Quality Assessment and the Health Funders Association.

 

Being a CEO of a national company for the past 17 years, he has vast experience and knowledge of strategic planning and the implementation thereof, transformation and change, people and talent management, performance management, customer service and efficiency, financial management and performance, product development, stakeholder relationship management and excellent corporate governance with the capability to successfully consult and train organisations and mentor their CEOs.
